(Robin Adele Clerici)
Robin Clerici graduated from the Accademia di Moda e Costume. She designed costumes for theatre and film (1983–1991), working as assistant to Academy Award–winner Franca Squarciapino in theatres in Paris, Lyon, Glasgow, London, Berlin, New York, Milan and Rome. She was also the fashion designer and haute couture shoe designer for “Albanese di Roma” (1981–1988).
She creates trompe-l’oeil works and murals for important private venues and offices in Italy and abroad.
She studied fresco and mosaic techniques, while simultaneously pursuing painting, photography and digital art. She also creates jewellery-sculptures made using the lost-wax casting technique.
All her work is transformed into moments of direct communication, as immediate as air. Her technique reveals a serene illustrated quality that unfolds in the depiction of beaches, cities, ploughed fields and meadows, leading the viewer into a silent, emotional participation in the world’s landscapes.
Working mainly with acrylic on linen and digital photography, she portrays from an aerial perspective people, children, bathers on beaches, animals in fields, agricultural landscapes, gardens with figures, streets and still lifes.
She has been exhibiting in national and international galleries and fairs since 1996.
