Art. 1 – Purpose of the Initiative
Wall is an initiative dedicated to contemporary art, designed in an agile and dynamic format to offer visibility to emerging artists and create a privileged perspective on new artistic trends. The initiative is also open to established artists wishing to present unpublished works or projects not previously exhibited.
Art. 2 – Concept and Exhibition Methods
Wall is based on an essential format:
- a main wall of the gallery (dimensions: 586 × 230 cm), assigned to one artist for an entire week;
- an informative video system displaying the artist’s biography and related content;
- an electronic voting system allowing visitors to express their evaluation of the exhibited works, thus creating an interactive and participatory experience.
The project aims to encourage active engagement with contemporary art, allowing the public to help shape new artistic trends through their vote.
Art. 3 – Applications and Artist Selection
Applications must be submitted through the website wall.kou.gallery.
3.1 – Evaluation of Applications
The approval or rejection of the application is carried out by a commission of three experts in the field, appointed by the Artistic Direction of Kou Gallery. The commission’s decision is final and not subject to appeal.
3.2 – Presentation by a Curator
A curatorial text is required only for artists over 30. In such cases, the proposed project must present new or otherwise unpublished works compared to the artist’s previous production, whether in approach, content, or artistic research.
Artists under 30 may apply without a curator, unless otherwise requested by the commission.
